Numerous. As one would expect from this showpiece location, there are some of the finest hotels and resorts in the Islands along the seven-mile sprawl. Some of the prime properties include the $41 Million Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman, the stylish villas of the Caribbean Club or the very proper condos of the Colonial Club.
Budget travelers need not dispair, however, because there are also some less expensive digs such as the Christopher Columbus, the Seagull and the Cayman Islander. All these, and more, can be found along Seven Mile Beach.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
The beach itself is a showpiece of sand-and-sea Caribbean perfection. However, for something different, you can always go to Hell. This little photo vantage point - overlooking twisted coral and limestone rock formations - consists of a couple of gift shops and a post office that sells stamps imprinted with the logo: "Hell, Grand Cayman". Also, check out the Cayman Turtle Farm and the old pirates' hangout of Bodden Town.
ACCESS TO BEACH:
Everywhere and anywhere. Likely just in front of your hotel but if not just park your car along the road or in one of the hotel parking lots.
QUALITY OF BEACH:
Almost perfect. Like the name says, this is seven miles of powdery white sand and crystal clear Cayman waters.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
The Caymans are known world-wide as a scuba divers paradise and there are at least 20 fulltime dive operations to meet the tourist demand. Even snorkelers can witness the famous vertical coral walls and coral reefs that surround each island. Check with your hotel or any of the dive shops for information on rentals and the various dive tours available.
